OSINT Consulting & Expert Support

Sometimes you do not need another report. You need OSINT consulting: an expert to help you frame the question, judge the evidence you already have, or teach your own people to do the work well.

  • Decision-focused intelligence advice
  • Expert scoping and debriefs
  • Corporate OSINT training online or on site
  • English or Ukrainian
Short answer

OSINT consulting is expert advice on using open-source intelligence: framing the right question, choosing what to research, judging how reliable the findings are, and building the skills and processes to do it in-house. OSINT-S offers business intelligence consulting around a specific decision, expert scoping and debriefs on investigations, and corporate OSINT training delivered with the Molfar Intelligence Institute.

OSINT Consultant or OSINT Investigator: What Is the Difference?

An investigator delivers findings. A consultant improves your decision or your capability. Many engagements start as one and become the other.

Our OSINT Consulting Services

Four ways to work with our OSINT experts, from a single session on one decision to a training program for a whole team.

Advice

Business intelligence consulting

Research-backed advice around one decision: entering a market, choosing a partner, assessing a competitor or a regulatory risk. The work follows six steps, from defining the decision to structuring the findings for the people who make it (Molfar).

Expert support

Scoping and analyst debriefs

Before an investigation, an expert helps you turn a worry into an answerable question and a proportionate scope. After it, an analyst walks your team, board or lawyers through what is proven, what is likely and what is still open.

Training

Corporate OSINT training

Courses for small, medium and large organizations, online or in person, in English or Ukrainian, built around your sector and the cases your team handles (custom courses).

Capability

Building an in-house OSINT team

Advanced training of 8 to 40 hours covering investigations into people and companies, HUMINT basics and cybersecurity, designed for teams that are scaling their processes and recruiting analysts (Molfar Intelligence Institute).

When Do You Need an OSINT Consultant?

When the problem is the question, the method or the team, not one missing fact.

  • You face a strategic decision, such as a market entry, an acquisition or a new partner, and do not yet know which risks matter.
  • You have a report from another provider and want an expert to explain its limits before you act on it.
  • Your compliance, security or investigations team runs open-source checks every week but has never been trained in verification and documentation.
  • You are setting up an OSINT function and want analysts who learn from practitioners, not only from tool vendors.
  • Your board needs a briefing in plain language on what open sources can and cannot tell you about a threat or counterparty.

How an OSINT Consulting Engagement Works

For decision support we follow the six steps Molfar uses for business advisory work; for training we start from your team's real cases.

  1. Define the decisionWe agree what will be decided, by whom and when, and what a useful answer looks like.
  2. Set the research scopeWe choose the questions that matter for the decision and leave out the ones that do not.
  3. Gather relevant intelligenceOur analysts, or your team under our guidance, collect the records and signals that bear on each question.
  4. Verify critical informationFindings that would change the decision are tested against independent sources.
  5. Assess feasibility and riskWe weigh the options against what the evidence shows, including what remains uncertain.
  6. Structure the findingsYou receive a short, decision-ready briefing and, if you want it, a session with the people who decide.

What Does Corporate OSINT Training Cover?

Practical tradecraft on your team's own scenarios: finding, verifying and documenting information about people, companies and online activity, lawfully and safely.

  • Investigating people and companies: registries, courts, media, online footprint and ownership structures.
  • Verification: testing sources, content and metadata before a finding is reported.
  • Documentation: captures, notes and reports that colleagues, lawyers and auditors can follow.
  • Operational security: researching without exposing your organization or alerting the subject.
  • HUMINT basics and cybersecurity: where open sources meet human sources and technical exposure.
  • Legal limits: data protection, proportionality and the methods that are off limits.

Training is delivered with the Molfar Intelligence Institute, which reports 7,000 participants and more than 100 training topics (institute). Formats run from a single workshop to an advanced program of 8 to 40 hours, online, in person or recorded.

OSINT Consulting FAQ

What does an OSINT consultant do?

An OSINT consultant helps you use open-source intelligence well: framing the question, scoping research, judging the reliability of findings and training your team. An OSINT investigator, by contrast, delivers the findings themselves.

What is the difference between an OSINT expert and an OSINT analyst?

In practice the terms overlap. Analyst usually describes the person doing the research; expert or specialist usually describes a senior practitioner who advises, reviews or trains.

How much does OSINT consulting cost?

Is OSINT consulting confidential?
